Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
The father in the Jewish culture is entrusted with the duty of passing to the next generation the laws and principles of God.
He was to do that by capturing the learning moments and passing on that knowledge.
When the child wakes up, the father is there to teach a lesson. When the child is being taken to school, the father uses the moment to teach valuable life lessons. When they sit to eat, the father is there to teach and impart. At night the father shares the final lessons.
This can only be achieved with a father who is present in the lives of his children.
God’s greatest gift to us are our children. Just as a potter has to hold the clay and intentionally mould it into the shape he desires, so should the father be present in the life of the child, touching him with life lessons that will shape the child into what God has purposed him/her to be.
The father who makes time to mould his children is aware of the responsibility of shaping destinies for the future. Shalom.
Prayer : Pray for fathers to be endowed with wisdom to impart valuable life lessons to their children.
